Portfolio: Eliot Khuner Photography

The Organization: EK Photo is a well established and experienced wedding and photography studio, headquartered in the East Bay.

Their Needs: When we were initially contacted, EK Photo's website contained both design and user interface elements that were out of date and difficult to navigate. The website was also made up of two versions, older HTML pages and a newer, all-flash website. The two websites created a confusing experience for prospective brides and grooms, and few couples booked the company after going to the website. However, their photography was their best advertisement. EK Photo wanted the new website to be a combination of images and appropriately used web technology that would help attract a sophisticated clientele for wedding photography services.

The Solution: Stellar IT Solutions used color and light to communicate drama and style. We let the customer's photos do the rest of the talking. The pages were designed to present over 80 images without overwhelming the audience. Because the customer also had very specific content indexing requirements that affected design decisions, we did not use flash within the albums, but instead created visitor controlled javascript slideshows with indexable narratives in each portfolio section.

The photographer was very pleased with the outcome, and within weeks had already booked numerous weddings because of the new website.
